Kayaking in the wilderness is by its nature an activity that bears some risk. Kinloch Lodge operates in accordance with recognised safety and operations standards and every possible safety precaution is taken. Customers of Kayak Kinloch t/a Kinloch Lodge Ltd T/A Kayak Kinloch accept that Lake Kayaking is an activity with a degree of risk. The operator will not be responsible for any injury or loss which results from participation.
Previous experience is not necesarry. We use Viking sit-on kayaks, chosen to provide a safe stable environment for inexperienced paddlers.
Sunscreen; insect repellant; shorts or trousers that dry fast; light footwear that can get wet. Guests are encouraged to bring their camera, but Kayak Kinloch and Kinloch Lodge assume no resposibilty for their loss or damage.
We provide Viking sit-on kayaks both singles and doubles, life-jackets (child sizes as well), paddles, wetsuits and waterproof tops. A snack, shower and hot-tub are included on the two hour trip. Lose of fishing lures or other kayak kinloch equipment will be charged for.
It is important you disclose any pre-existing conditions that we should know about that may be relevant to your safety or the safety of others and includes: pregnancy asthma, heart disease, mental disability, any physical disability or limitations. Maximum weight 120 kg*.
Our guides are fully first-aid trained and have a wealth of experience and knowledge of lake Wakatipu in all conditions. *Guides will not take guests kayaking if they are deemed unfit, causing a safety hazard to themselves or other guests. Guests will not be taken on trips when under the influence of drugs or alcohol. The decision of the guide is final.
Trips may be cancelled or postponed due to weather. In marginal weather please re-confirm from 07:30am on the day of departure by calling Tel. (03) 442 4900. Cancellations require 24 hour notice for a full refund.
